Sheffield is the working-class anchor of the Shoals, built around the river, the rail, and the old TVA Reservation. The Ritz Theatre on Montgomery Avenue and the historic Inn at the Shoals keep a steady stream of weekend visitors moving through downtown, while the surrounding neighborhoods stay dominated by long-tenure local trades — electricians, mechanics, body shops, small contractors.
